Passion… an elixir to perpetual youth
I have met many people in last few days and found myself asking the same question again and again. What makes them the way they are. I found that one thing all these successful people had in their life was – Passion. Their age had nothing to do with the eternally burning fire within them. A colleague of mine – a 42 year old person who has seen many ups and downs in his life summed it nicely for me – “I want to be the best in whatever I do. I want to anticipate each surprise that can be sprung up on me. I want to be as good in this industry as I was in my profession for last eighteen years.”
It was inspiring to say the least. He is trying to find his footings in an industry totally alien to him just 4 months ago and I felt if he can bear that attitude, why can’t everyone else who complain and crib about the things they do not like about their work.
There was this other gentleman whom I met due to business reason and he was so passionate about his line of work that I almost fell in love with his business. It is so contagious!!
All these people are in their early forties to early fifties and they have more passion than most of my batchmates. They do not look at life with respect to what it gives to them.. they look at it more like what they can get out of it. It is their passion in life.. an outlook which makes them youthful, in appearance as well in mindset. Be it a musician, an actor, a business man, an artist, a beautician, a home maker, a finance expert or an IT professional.. unless you live your work, you can not enjoy it to the fullest extent and neither can you have the feeling of contentment after a hard day’s work enveloping you everyday, making you immune to everything negative.
I applaud for all those people who live each day with just one thing – Passion. Those are the people who are eternally youthful and radiant.
